Drones strike Shatura GRES in Moscow Region

Today, numerous friendly birds visited Shatura GRES in the Moscow region. Local Spielbergs don’t just film videos about their GRES but also comment on what’s happening. Obviously, they film this not for the family archive. Therefore, they try to choose expressions carefully. For the sake of experiment, pick any video showing the night attack when drones strike Shatura GRES, and just estimate by ear how many words from the dictionary are used versus how many obscenities. Here you’ll see what “Russian language” is not in theory but in practice. And this is what they consider their highest value.

Now about what, and most importantly — where all this happened. Shatura GRES with a capacity of one and a half gigawatts isn’t some energy giant. Much less can you call it something new or perfect. But this isn’t a simple station. They built it back when Grandpa Lenin hadn’t yet gone to the mausoleum due to the last stage of syphilis. This station was one of the first built under his GOELRO plan in the early 1920s. Simply put, besides its utilitarian function — generating electricity and heat for the surroundings — this station has certain symbolism for the Orcs. After all, now they’re returning themselves an ersatz-Soviet. Undoubtedly, this station can be considered a symbol of the Soviet and also connects them with Leninist times. And today it got hit deliciously there. According to sources, the station took about five strikes.

Why Locals Filmed Everything

A large number of videos testifies that local Orcs haven’t yet gotten used to such spectacles. Therefore, they enthusiastically film everything on video. If you compare with Ryazan refinery or other plants of the same profile — locals there almost no longer film drone arrivals. Although sometimes the spectacle takes on unprecedented scale and generally there’s something to film. But on one hand, the authorities of Ryazan or Belgorod have already started repressions against such cinematographers. On the other hand, they’ve already gotten used to such events there. Another strike on a plant ceased to look like an outstanding event and turned into routine.

But here — a pile of photos and videos to which the gauleiter of the capital region must react. Silence with a large amount of attack evidence would look much worse than any comment. As noted earlier, such figures have a Kremlin-approved list of texts to launch on air for one or another attack configuration. If everything happens in a remote area where there are no witnesses, silence will be the best reaction option. You can hold a pause. If the Armed Forces don’t publish their videos, there will be no statements about this. But if someone filmed and posted something on the Network, you must react and issue some version of an approved speech. Although even in such a case, there’s certain differentiation of statements. In this case, the gauleiter made such a speech:

This morning, drones attacked Shatura GRES. Air defense forces destroyed part of the drones. Several fell on the station’s territory. A fire broke out at the facility. Now we’ve localized it. Emergency services continue work. Power supply in the city isn’t disrupted — switching to backup lines was performed promptly… Water, sewerage, and electricity in the city of Shatura operate normally. All measures are being taken for prompt restoration of heat supply.

Reading Between the Lines

As is not difficult to notice, he mentions air defense work here, although no video detected it. However, the gauleiter didn’t emphasize that all drones were shot down. He didn’t even use the word “debris”. The comrade evasively told about drones that “fell” on the station. Note: about their drones and missiles, they never write in such a key. Those never “fall” on the target.

Updated

While I was writing this text, a video appeared. From hotel windows, Orcs actually filmed their own air defense work. Every experienced philatelist can view them and draw their own conclusion about what kind of aggregate this is — the famous “Pantsir” or the no less famous S-400 “Triumph”. And as befits, all these events are abundantly covered with obscenities. Let’s just note that this air defense work happens precisely in the strip of the super-powerful dome that covers the chicken coop’s capital.

Power Distribution Node Goes Boom

Well, according to various data, the attack targeted the “GRES power output node”. The power output node is an infrastructural complex through which the power plant transmits generated electricity to the unified energy system. According to preliminary data, three-four substation transformers were destroyed. They gave that fire picture that got into photos and videos.

And we’ll only note that those thermal power stations on temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine or on henhouse territory that fell under attack by good birds are then finished off with repeated strikes. A few hours before drones strike Shatura GRES, Zuivska TPP in the occupied part of Donetsk oblast suffered a repeat attack. And after the first attack, reports went out that electricity began disappearing in entire sectors of temporarily occupied Donetsk oblast. Of course, this complicates logistics for the enemy troop grouping currently operating near Pokrovsk.

So Shatura residents should stock up on popcorn. The show is just beginning. The drones strike Shatura GRES demonstrated that even Moscow region’s energy infrastructure — supposedly protected by multiple air defense layers — remains vulnerable to Ukrainian drones.
