Engels Missile Storage Destroyed in Saratov Oblast
Grief and despair reign on the Swamps¹ today for very different reasons. The main one — Ukrainian forces delivered an unprecedentedly powerful strike on the enemy’s strategic aviation airfield Engels-2, located in Saratov Oblast. Strikes have hit this location before, but something very unusual happened this time. The Engels missile storage destroyed in today’s attack represents the most devastating blow yet to russia’s strategic aviation capabilities. Previously, the enemy limited itself to statements about Ukrainian Armed Forces drones attempting to attack this airbase, but usually they wrote that defenders neutralized all targets and noted no consequences at the airfield.
But today the attack’s effectiveness turned out not just visible but indisputable. The main explosion proved so powerful that besides the bright spectacle and corresponding sound, local residents personally felt a powerful blast wave that damaged their houses and even led to destruction in some places, at a great distance from the explosion’s epicenter. As already known, this explosion occurred as a result of an air strike on warehouses where aviation bombs and missiles were stored.
They Were Preparing a Major Strike
Some sources report that Kh-101 missiles were delivered here specifically for further use by Tu-95 bombers against targets in Ukraine. Obviously, these warehouses weren’t empty before and something was there as ammunition for the aviation stationed here, but they additionally brought in the mentioned missiles, which they prepared specifically for a future strike. And all of this rose into the air as a result of a powerful explosion. The hit came from some Armed Forces strike asset, still not reliably known.
Let’s try to reach some conclusions about this aspect of the enemy’s anxiety. Wails are already ringing out there in the style of: “Now they’ll bombard us with Neptunes”. So obviously, Khuilo² was trying to demonstrate something to Trump to prove his might and military capability. Since the Orcs only manage to hit homes of peaceful Ukrainian residents with drones, Pootin needed to hit something significant with cruise or ballistic missiles, or even better — a combined strike of ballistics and cruise missiles. Most likely, the Armed Forces caught the enemy at the preparation stage of this feast.
It follows that the enemy’s plans were revealed in advance and the strike came preemptively. This may indicate that our intelligence has access to crucial data. Data that can disrupt a large-scale operation commissioned personally by putin. Here we should consider not only that the plan itself became known, but also the chronometry of its execution. Simply put, they allowed the enemy to bring valuable iron to one location. And after that — destroy everything with one undoubtedly accurate and powerful strike. Besides this, the Armed Forces demonstrated their capabilities to regulate “combat work” at such a distance.
Where Was the Vaunted Air Defense?
Another question suggests itself. This base itself is a hub of the enemy’s nuclear triad and therefore must be provided with the highest degree of air defense protection. But note, there wasn’t a single report from the scene about anti-aircraft assets working. However, I don’t assume the possibility that there was no air defense at all, because if this turns out to be the case, shoulder boards will fly. Most likely, they had to deploy something like Pantsir and Tor there, and maybe something heavier. But why didn’t the Orcs’ air defense work?

At the time I’m writing this text, detonation continues around the Engels-2 airbase. Accordingly, a column of smoke and dust rising from the scene is visible for more than a dozen kilometers. I didn’t hesitate to go through the most candid Kremlin Telegram channels to see how they’re writing about this event.
They write mostly vaguely about how many Armed Forces drones were shot down and that this was some kind of hellish attack, but nobody dared to write that the Engels missile storage destroyed means the missile warehouse no longer exists. But what’s interesting — they wrote about strategic aircraft and therefore — I’m providing an extensive quote from the Telegram channel “Office Snuffbox”:
Strike on the ‘Engels’ airfield. Rumors circulate about damaged bombers, but everything’s not quite like that. So many rumors circulate around the enemy strike on the ‘Engels’ airfield that we’re simply obliged to debunk them.
Some military personnel told us that allegedly as a result of the strike, several Tu-95MS strategic bombers were damaged. This is untrue. Several interlocutors reported damage to one aircraft. Most likely, it can be repaired. We note that information about the damaged bomber was received from verified sources, but not everyone confirmed it. Important ammunition was also lost. Which exactly, sorry, we won’t say.
The Smoke Clears, Reality Emerges
So the enemy admitted that at minimum one bomber sustained damage. And I repeat that detonation continues there and it’s unlikely anyone went to inspect the aircraft in such an environment. Moreover, the “comrade” already even expressed hope that only one damaged aircraft can be restored… Where does he get this when explosions still ring out there and their own missiles are flying around?
But here’s what’s important. First, the most zealous enemy confirmed liquidation of the ammunition warehouse, and we’ve already figured out what was there ourselves. Second, he didn’t even dare to hint at what was there. This testifies to one thing — there weren’t only aviation bombs there, because their loss can be announced without problems and consequences. Third, he did touch on the topic of aircraft damage.
And here it’s worth returning to what this news began with. Today a strike was delivered on the enemy’s strategic aviation airbase. What delivered the strike is currently unknown. But drone strikes on such targets are not effective. Because drones fly slowly and the time they need to reach the target is sufficient to raise aircraft into the air. Therefore, if the Armed Forces received a high-speed strike asset that will reach such an airfield in 3-4 minutes, many surprises await the enemy in the future. The Engels missile storage destroyed today proves Ukrainian forces can now strike deep into enemy territory with precision and devastating effect.
¹Swamps – an ironic name for Russia, emphasizing decay, stagnation, and filth. The Commander of the USF, Robert Browdie, and most soldiers use this word.
²Khuilo – the most popular nickname for Russian dictator V. Putin. First used during the 2014 invasion, and since 2022 most Ukrainians call him only that. See more on Wikipedia.
