Night Air Raid on Ukraine 5/10/2025 with Missiles and Drones

As expected, last night the enemy carried out a combined air raid on Ukraine 5/10/2025. As of this moment, the Air Force has not yet released official statistics, but it is already clear this was one of the largest attacks so far. Preliminary data suggests that the enemy launched around 600 different strike assets. From the usual mix of combined assaults, the use of Iskander-M / KN-23 ballistic missiles has not yet been confirmed, but everything else was deployed: several hundred drones of various types, Kalibr sea-launched cruise missiles, Kh-101 air-launched missiles, and two Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles.

Focus on Western Ukraine

Once again, most of the enemy’s power was directed toward western Ukraine — Lviv, Drohobych, Stryi, and Kolomyia. However, part of the strike package also hit Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Chernihiv, Sumy, and Zhytomyr regions. Visually, the night sky across the country looked like a grim fireworks show.

By 9:00 a.m., it became clear that the targets were mostly civilian infrastructure, with a focus on energy and gas assets. The previous strike focused on extraction sites in the Poltava region. Now the enemy aimed at gas storage locations. Everyone, including the Russians, knows that near Stryi lies one of Europe’s largest underground gas storage facilities.

RuSSian Energy Obsession

Years ago, Gazprom tried hard to buy it — at any cost. Strangely, Miller’s team failed to pull that trick off, even though they managed to gain control over key storage sites in Austria and Germany. Those assets have since been returned to European governments, but Moscow’s obsession with controlling energy routes never stopped. Since the Stryi facility was built during Soviet times, Russian intelligence knows it well — and continues to attack it.

For a time, they repeatedly struck this area, disabling above-ground equipment. Later, Ukraine’s air defenses strengthened there, and Russian missiles were sometimes intercepted. How it went this time — we’ll know by the end of the day — but judging by the intensity, the attack was massive. Once again, it proves that a mirrored response is the best remedy. If Ukraine manages to cut off gas supplies to Russian military factories or power plants, that will be the most effective way to make them pay for such assaults.

Damage Across Regions

Heavy strikes hit Zaporizhzhia as well, where guided aerial bombs were also used. In Lviv, the Sparrow industrial park was damaged. By morning, the city experienced partial blackouts, and train traffic in the region was delayed by up to 30 minutes. The air raid on Ukraine on 5/10/2025 turned into one of the most intense attacks of recent months, showing that Russia continues to escalate its night strikes against civilian targets. More information will follow later, but for now, this is the first outline of the night’s events.
