Our Blog Moves to a New Domain
In 2015, when Russia’s war against Ukraine was still in its early stage, we launched a blog. Its mission was to highlight one overlooked aspect of the struggle — the role of women in defending Ukraine. The platform gave voice to stories of courage, sacrifice, and resilience. Mainstream coverage often ignored these voices, but they mattered. Women served on the frontlines and took part in logistics. They provided medical help and defended Ukraine’s independence. Those efforts deserved far greater attention.
After February 24, 2022, everything changed. Russia launched its full-scale invasion, bringing massive destruction and affecting every part of life in Ukraine. At that moment, we realized that focusing only on one aspect of the war, even one as vital as contribution of women to Ukraine’s protection, was no longer enough. The war touches every family, every city, culture, economy, and the future of our people. The scale of the crimes and the scale of resistance both demanded broader documentation.
For this reason, we expanded the project and moved it to a new domain, ukraine-on-fire.com. Do not confuse our work with the similarly named film made by Pootin’s propagandists — their lies have nothing to do with us. Our mission remains the same: to document the truth, but now on a much broader scale.
We’ve also updated the blog structure. New categories were added: “War Crimes”, dedicated to recording and documenting Russian war crimes, and “War Time Facts”, focused on events that may seem unbelievable to civilians.
We continue telling the stories of women on the frontlines — and also those of soldiers, volunteers, displaced families, and entire communities resisting ruSSian aggression. This new stage of our platform is a raw, unfiltered chronicle of the war: preserving memory, exposing ruSSian crimes against civilians, and strengthening the fight for justice.
