Russia Explosives Plant Destroyed in Sterlitamak

Yesterday’s explosion at the Avangard plant in Bashkir Sterlitamak is now clearly being closed in the enemy’s information space. It looks really bad even for the population of the Swamps*. Local residents posted comments online immediately after the explosion. The consequences turned out to be simply stunning. The russia explosives plant destroyed completely. The explosives production workshop ceased to exist. What happened with the workshop’s insides can only be guessed. All the equipment and materials ended up buried under roof debris.

This is also, albeit indirectly, confirmed by local authorities. The plant manager’s statement said that the explosion occurred due to violation of safety regulations. At the moment of the explosion, six orcs were in the workshop. At the time of the statement, three had been pulled out from under the rubble. Two in serious condition, and one in critical. Three more are being searched for during debris removal. This is a statement from the orc who commands the explosives plant. Seemingly nothing can be extracted from it, but that’s at first glance.

The Suspicious Speed of Conclusions

Those who have dealt with investigating something similar know that statements about the causes of an explosion cannot be made until those who worked in the emergency room or workshop give testimony. Also, after the conclusions of experts who must examine the scene. Obviously, the condition of the orcs who survived the explosion is not such as to give sufficient, let alone exhaustive testimony. That is, at the time of the statement about the causes, four employees out of six could not speak at all. Three had not yet been found, and one was unconscious. Two are in serious condition, and it’s unlikely they were interrogated.

As for the experts’ conclusions, while debris removal and search for victims continues, they cannot even begin work. It follows that both sources of information on the basis of which some conclusions could be drawn were not available at the time of the statement about the causes of the explosion. Therefore, comrade director used the manual that sets out pre-prepared formulations in case of some emergency events. And this statement so far has nothing to do with objective reality.

Why the Explosion Should Not Have Been This Devastating

The second point that attracts attention is the actual destruction of the workshop building and its transformation into “rubble”. Here it’s important to consider that the plant was designed as an explosion-hazardous production. This means that all buildings and structures in which processes capable of causing an explosion take place are not built like ordinary workshops.

Measures should be provided so that explosive substances are not located in one place and at one time in quantities greater than calculated. In such a case, this amount of explosive substance is not capable of leading to the described consequences. Moreover, structural elements are provided that should divert and/or absorb a blast wave of certain power. In addition to the structural elements themselves of a special shape, there should be knock-out parts that should relieve the walls and roof of the building from the load of the blast wave.

But it seems that the explosion turned out to be much more powerful than it could have been according to calculations. And whatever the cause of such an explosion, too many circumstances should have come together there to achieve such an effect. Whether this could have happened by accident is hard to say. But we just need to consider that the technology itself, the building design, and the operating mode should not have led to such consequences.

The Hasty Cover-Up

The plant director’s hasty statement suggests something revealing. The authorities needed to urgently cover up the situation from the public eye. Whatever the real cause, one fact remains clear. The russia explosives plant destroyed its production capacity completely. The explosives production plant ceased to exist. Production won’t resume anytime soon. And this cannot but please.

*Orcs – a common term for Russians who support or participate in the armed aggression against Ukraine.
